Our Staff

Our focus is on developing high quality and affordable education and childcare. To that end, we only recruit suitably qualified and experienced staff. Our Nursery Manager holds a Level 4 in Child Development and has over ten years’ experience in the childcare industry and our Education and Quality Standards Manager holds a 1st, BA Honour’s degree, in young Children’s Learning and Development and has over 13 years’ experience in the industry.

In addition, a further 5 members of our staff team either, hold, or are working toward, gaining their Degree’s in Children’s Learning and Development and the minimum qualification requirement to work at Acorns is level 3.


Through each academic year the staff undergo both internal and external training, dependent on their specific needs or the needs of the nursery. All staff hold a level 3 qualification in Safeguarding, Paediatric First Aid, Fire Awareness. 


Our Room Leaders and Seconders hold Officer positions within the nursery to strengthen and support the setting:

These roles are displayed on our Notice Board and include:

    •  Safeguarding
    •  Health and Safety
    •  First Aid
    •  SENCO
    •  Fire Marshall

In addition, we are long standing members of the National Day Nurseries Association, (N.D.N.A) and utilise their services regularly accessing training events, publications, statutory policy underwriting, newsletters and external assessment.
